Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar Sidhu has said that the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) is gearing up for modern warfare by enhancing its capabilities in space, cyber technologies, and electronic warfare to safeguard the country’s sovereignty.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the day began with special prayers and Quran recitation at all PAF bases nationwide. The prayers were dedicated to martyrs of the 1965 and 1971 wars, as well as all those who embraced martyrdom in the line of duty since the creation of Pakistan.
The central ceremony was held at Air Headquarters Islamabad, attended by Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar Sidhu as the chief guest.
Air chief’s address
In his address, the air chief paid glowing tribute to the martyrs, describing Martyrs’ Day as a symbol of the armed forces’ courage, sacrifice, and professionalism.
He highlighted the PAF’s achievements in Marka e Haq and Bunyan un Marsoos operations, calling them proof of the Air Force’s unwavering resolve and defensive capability.

“The nation is indebted to the sacrifices of its heroes, and their legacy will remain a guiding light for future generations,” he said.
Air Chief Sidhu reaffirmed that the PAF is fully committed to meeting evolving security challenges.
He stressed that the force is working to enhance its capabilities in space operations, electronic warfare, cyber technologies, and indigenous defence production to safeguard Pakistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
On this solemn occasion, the Air Chief also expressed solidarity with the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), reiterating Pakistan’s support for their just struggle.
