Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has approved the appointment of two new Pakistani ambassadors -- to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Russia, following recommendations from Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar.
Shafqat Ali Khan to represent Pakistan in UAE
According to official sources, Shafqat Ali Khan, currently serving as the spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, will be Pakistan’s new ambassador to the UAE. He replaces Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, who has been reassigned to Moscow.
Khan, a seasoned diplomat, has represented Pakistan in several international postings and is known for his strong communication skills and experience in bilateral relations.
Faisal Tirmizi appointed ambassador to Russia
Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, Pakistan’s outgoing envoy to the UAE, will now serve as the country’s new ambassador to Russia.
His appointment comes at a time when Pakistan is seeking to deepen diplomatic and economic engagement with Moscow.
