Pakistan has once again reaffirmed its firm stance against terrorism, calling for international cooperation and non-discriminatory global efforts to combat the menace.
In a weekly press briefing on Friday, Foreign Office Spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan stressed that Pakistan maintains a policy of zero tolerance toward terrorism and has consistently acted as a frontline state in the global fight against it.
“Pakistan condemns all forms and manifestations of terrorism. Our counter-terrorism policy is grounded in zero tolerance and international cooperation,” he stated.
Referring to the recent arrest of wanted terrorist Sharifullah, the spokesperson said that Pakistan has played a pivotal role in promoting regional and global peace through effective counter-terrorism operations.
He clarified that the investigation into the recent Pahalgam incident, which occurred in a disputed and internationally recognized conflict zone, remains inconclusive. “Any attempt to link Pakistan or banned organizations like Lashkar-e-Tayyaba to the incident is contrary to the ground realities,” he emphasized.
Shafqat Ali Khan also highlighted that Pakistan has comprehensively dismantled terror networks operating within its borders. “The leadership of such organizations has been arrested and prosecuted in accordance with the law,” he added.
Responding to Indian allegations, the spokesperson accused New Delhi of using propaganda tactics to divert international attention from human rights violations in Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir. “India has a track record of promoting anti-Pakistan narratives to deflect from its actions in occupied Kashmir,” he said.
The Foreign Office further urged the international community to adopt a collective, unbiased approach in addressing terrorism. “Discriminatory policies only weaken the global resolve. It is imperative that terrorist groups like the Majeed Brigade are banned, just as the BLA has been,” said the spokesperson.
He concluded by reiterating Pakistan’s long-standing commitment to peace and security, noting that the country has made "unprecedented sacrifices" in the fight against terrorism.
