Federal Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal demanded on Sunday the registration of a first information report (FIR) against the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leadership, blaming the party's alleged "incompetence" in the recent Swat tragedy.
Expressing his thoughts in Narowal, Iqbal said that an entire family of 18 asked for help but received no assistance. "One by one, children and women were swept away by the water," he added.
He criticised the lack of emergency services in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), saying that no adequate facilities were available to save lives during the disaster.
Iqbal reiterated his call for accountability, saying: "18 lives were lost due to sheer negligence. Those responsible must be brought to justice."
Lashing out at the former ruling party, he added: "In fifteen years, PTI has done nothing in KP except loot and plunder."
