Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi conveyed a goodwill message from Pakistan's President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian during a meeting in Tehran.
According to Iran's ISNA news agency, Naqvi met President Pezeshkian on Saturday during his visit to the Iranian capital for consultations regarding understanding between Iran and the United States.
The two sides held discussions on matters of mutual interest and the regional situation.
Earlier, Naqvi met Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and held talks on Pakistan-Iran relations, regional developments and bilateral cooperation.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei said the visit formed part of Islamabad's continuing efforts concerning Iran-US negotiations.
Separately, Naqvi held talks with Iranian Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni in Tehran. The ministers reviewed regional developments and exchanged views on issues of mutual concern.
Both sides described the recent US-Iran agreement as a positive step towards lasting peace and stability in the region and stressed the importance of dialogue and diplomacy in addressing regional challenges.
Naqvi arrived in Tehran after travelling from Mashhad, where he was also expected to visit the holy shrine of Imam Reza.
According to Iranian media, the interior minister was due to congratulate Iranian officials on the memorandum of understanding signed with the United States and discuss the next stage of the process.
