A powerful explosion inside a house in Lahore’s Ghaziabad area on Tuesday injured three people, including two children, and caused the upper floor's roof to collapse, according to police and rescue officials.
The blast occurred inside a residential building, leading to panic in the neighbourhood. The injured were immediately provided first aid and shifted to a nearby hospital for further treatment. Initial reports suggest all three victims sustained serious injuries but are currently under medical care.
Rescue teams reached the site shortly after the explosion and began clearing the debris. According to emergency responders, the blast not only destroyed the roof of the affected house but also damaged adjoining homes.
Police have cordoned off the area and initiated an investigation to determine the cause and nature of the explosion. "We are assessing whether it was due to a gas leak, short circuit, or another source. Nothing can be ruled out at this stage," said a police spokesperson.
Rescue officials confirmed that debris removal is still underway and further updates will follow once the investigation concludes.
