Pakistani security forces eliminated five Khwarij militants, including a high-value target and captured two others during three separate intelligence-based operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to a statement released by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Saturday, the operations took place on April 30 and May 1 2025 across Bajaur, North Waziristan and Mohmand districts, based on confirmed intelligence inputs.
In Bajaur District, the forces launched an operation following credible reports regarding the presence of Khwarij militants. During the mission, security personnel engaged the hostile elements in a fierce gun battle. As a result, three Khwarij were eliminated, including a high-value target identified as Kharji Fareed Ullah.
In another operation conducted in the general area of Dossali within North Waziristan District, the forces confronted further militant resistance. After an intense exchange of fire, two more Khwarij were neutralised by the troops.
A third successful encounter took place in Mohmand District, where the forces dismantled a Khwarij hideout. During this operation, two militants were captured, one of whom was identified as the high-value target Kharji Lal Ameer, also known by the alias Ibrahim.
Weapons, ammunition and explosives were seized from the apprehended militants. The ISPR confirmed that the Khwarij had remained actively involved in a series of terrorist activities across the region.
"Sanitisation operations were conducted to eliminate any other Kharji found in the area, as the security forces of Pakistan are determined to wipe out the menace of terrorism from the country," the ISPR statement read.
