After a brief pause triggered by a critical bug, Samsung has restarted the global rollout of its One UI 7 update, which is based on Android 15.
The update, originally launched earlier this month for select flagship devices, is once again reaching users across the globe.
What happened?
The rollout initially began on April 7, 2025, with U.S. users starting to receive it three days later. However, Samsung halted the update shortly after early users in South Korea reported a serious issue — they were unable to unlock their phones post-update. Although Samsung did not confirm the nature of the bug, it acknowledged that the rollout schedule was being revised to ensure a smoother experience.
Update now rolling out again
Following a rapid internal fix, Samsung has resumed the One UI 7 update for its flagship lineup, including the
- Galaxy S24 series
- Z Fold 6
- Z Flip 6
According to Android Authority and SammyFans, the update is now live for T-Mobile and Verizon users in the U.S., and users in other global markets have reported receiving it as well.
Although Samsung’s version of Android 15 arrived later than expected, especially given developer access started in September 2024, the company is now pushing forward. We expect the following devices to receive the update soon:
- Galaxy S23 series
- Galaxy S24 FE and S23 FE
- Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5
- Galaxy Tab S10 and Tab S9 series
While the initial hiccup may have delayed One UI 7’s momentum, Samsung seems to be quickly back on track. With enhanced features, improved design, and the power of Android 15 under the hood, One UI 7 is shaping up to be a major refresh for Samsung users, now with added stability.
