A case under the Anti-Terrorism Act (ATA) has been registered at the Karachi Company police station following resistance encountered during the sealing of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Central Secretariat in Islamabad.
PTI Islamabad leader Aamir Mughal has been named in the case and subsequently apprehended by law enforcement authorities.
On Thursday night, the police moved in to seal the PTI Central Secretariat. According to details, Mughal was arrested from outside the office during the operation. Allegations suggest that Mughal instigated violence during the Capital Development Authority (CDA) operation.
"During the CDA operation, Aamir Mughal reportedly fired shots into the air upon his arrival, and along with a group of agitated individuals, attempted to assault the police party," reads the text of the case. During the arrest of Mughal, some of his accomplices managed to escape capture.

The case has been registered under Section 7 of the ATA, along with other relevant provisions, as specified in the complaint filed by the District Magistrate at the Karachi Company Police Station.
In a major crackdown on illegal constructions and encroachments, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) sealed the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Central Secretariat in Islamabad. The operation, conducted in collaboration with the district administration, involved anti-encroachment teams equipped with heavy machinery deployed at the site, located in Sector G-84.
A heavy contingent of police was also present outside the secretariat as the CDA initiated the action against unauthorised structures established by the political party.
According to a CDA spokesperson, the plot in question was allotted to an individual named Sartaj Ali. However, violations of building by-laws, including the construction of an additional floor, were noted. The political party had also reportedly encroached on the adjacent land.
