The Jordan's armed forces said on Thursday that the country's air defence system intercepted eight missiles fired from Iran.
The military said debris from some of the missiles fell to the ground, but no casualties or property damage were reported.
Earlier, the Jordan's state news agency, quoting a government spokesperson, said warning sirens sounded across the country after missiles launched from Iran were detected in Jordanian airspace.
Armed forces remain on full alert
According to Reuters, the government spokesperson also said the armed forces remain on full alert and are fully prepared to respond to any threat to the security of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
Earlier, Iranian media reported an attack on a US military base in Jordan. The United States has not commented on the report.
During the recent conflict, Tehran repeatedly targeted US military bases and facilities in regional countries, including Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait and Jordan, in response to US and Israeli strikes on Iran.
