The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has launched the Digital Disaster Compensation Management (DDCM) system to provide timely relief to people affected by natural disasters.
According to the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), the system will manage the entire process, from receiving relief applications to the payment of compensation, under a single and effective mechanism.
Initiative intended to provide relief to people
The PDMA spokesperson said the initiative is intended to provide timely relief to people affected by natural disasters, adding that the system will improve transparency in the distribution of compensation and reduce human involvement in the process.
The new system is also expected to speed up the processing of applications. The PDMA spokesperson added that the digital system will spare affected people from making repeated visits to government offices.
Moreover, the people affected by natural disasters can submit their applications through the Digital Disaster Compensation Management System established at the Deputy Commissioner's Office.
Eligible applicants to receive financial assistance
After verification, eligible applicants will receive financial assistance in accordance with the government's policy.
