Bangladesh wicketkeeper-batter Litton Das has been ruled out of the ongoing One-Day International (ODI) series against Zimbabwe after failing to recover from a hamstring injury.
Das to continue rehabilitation in Dhaka
Das was initially ruled out of only the first ODI, played on July 6. Subsequently, he has not regained full fitness. He will continue his rehabilitation in Dhaka.
Bangladesh cricket team physiotherapist Baizidul Islam Khan said Das had also missed the opening ODI and remains unfit for match action. He added that the player underwent a fitness test on Thursday, but the results were not satisfactory.
Khan said the schedule of back-to-back ODI matches leaves little chance of Das making a full recovery during the series. As a result, the decision has been made to leave him out of the remaining two matches.
