The Pakistan Navy (PN) and Pakistan Maritime Security Agency (PMSA) on Wednesday located the wreckage of the missing K2 Airways Boeing 737 cargo aircraft in the Arabian Sea after a 12-hour search-and-rescue operation, while efforts continued to trace the five crew members on board.
The wreckage was recovered 53 nautical miles south of Ormara, following an extensive search involving naval vessels, aircraft and other maritime assets.
The Pakistan Navy said search-and-rescue operations remain underway to recover further evidence and locate the missing crew members.
Aircraft reported navigation problem
According to the Pakistan Airports Authority, the Boeing 737 cargo aircraft, operating from Sharjah to Karachi, reported a navigational system issue at 9:18pm PST on Tuesday.

Karachi Air Traffic Control immediately provided navigational assistance, but communication was lost shortly afterwards as radar showed the aircraft descending rapidly.
Investigation underway
The aircraft had been returning to Karachi after undergoing repairs in Sharjah following an earlier technical fault.
An 11-member team from the Bureau of Safety Investigation has arrived in Karachi and launched a formal probe into the incident.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed authorities to intensify rescue efforts and ensure a thorough investigation into the crash.
