The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has increased the electricity tariff by 33 paisas per unit under the monthly fuel cost adjustment for May, with consumers across Pakistan, including K-Electric users, set to pay the additional charges in July bills.
According to a notification issued by NEPRA, electricity has been made costlier by Rs0.33 per unit under the monthly fuel cost adjustment (FCA) for May 2026.
The increase will apply to electricity consumers across the country, including those served by K-Electric.
The Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA) had sought an increase of Rs0.82 per unit, but NEPRA approved a lower hike of Rs0.33 per unit after conducting a public hearing.
Consumers to pay in July bills
The additional charges will be recovered from consumers through their July electricity bills as part of the monthly fuel adjustment mechanism.
