Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir on Wednesday said Pakistan's armed forces were fully prepared to counter evolving security challenges, vowing that every attempt to destabilise the country and all forms of cross-border terrorism would be crushed with the full power of the state.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the army chief made the remarks while addressing graduating officers of the National Security and War Course at the National Defence University (NDU) in Islamabad.
He said elements backed by hostile intelligence agencies would not be allowed to undermine Pakistan's peace, security or economic stability, adding that cross-border terrorism would be uprooted with the support of the nation.
Modern warfare demands strategic adaptation
Highlighting the changing nature of warfare, Field Marshal Asim Munir said strategic foresight and institutional professionalism were essential to tackling complex security challenges.
He said the armed forces were restructuring their operational and development strategies to align with modern warfare and effectively respond to future threats.
Praise for NDU
The army chief praised the National Defence University for preparing future military and civilian leaders to confront hybrid, conventional and sub-conventional threats with confidence and strategic vision.
'Wars are not won with slogans'
Emphasising the importance of national unity, Asim Munir said wars could not be won through media rhetoric or political slogans but through faith, unity and discipline.
He also expressed confidence in the professionalism and combat readiness of Pakistan's armed forces.
Concluding his address, the field marshal urged the graduating officers to uphold integrity, selfless service and an unwavering commitment to the country throughout their careers.
