Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said on Thursday that the Pakistan's eastern neighbour is involved in terrorist incidents in the country, vowing to continue the fight until every terrorist is eliminated.
Eastern neighbour backs terrorist organisations
Speaking at the Provincial Apex Committee meeting in Quetta, the premier asserted that the country's eastern neighbour was supporting terrorist organisations by supplying them with weapons and money.
The prime minister said that the police officers, soldiers and civilians had lost their lives in terrorist attacks. He said security forces had killed 54 terrorists in Balochistan and the operation would continue until the last terrorist was eliminated.
PM praises Pakistan Armed Forces
He praised the Pakistan Armed Forces for their sacrifices, saying the entire nation stood with them.
The prime minister said that the terrorists were using Afghan territory, adding that members of Fitna al-Khawarij were also involved in terrorist activities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He said the political and military leadership were fully united in their determination to eliminate terrorism and defeat the group's objectives.
Premier recalls Pakistan's achievement
He said that the Pakistan's success in Marka-e-Haq last May and the country's diplomatic achievements had frustrated its enemies. He said all available resources would be used to eliminate terrorism and expressed confidence that the sacrifices of the martyrs would bring lasting results. He said Pakistan would soon move towards peace, development and prosperity.
Balochistan's law and order reviewed
The Provincial Apex Committee meeting, chaired by the prime Minister in quetta, reviewed the overall law and order situation in Balochistan. Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir attended the meeting along with the Governor and Chief Minister of Balochistan, senior officials of law enforcement agencies, Federal Ministers Atta Tarar and Ahsan Iqbal, Federal Minister Ahad Cheema, and the Prime Minister's adviser, Rana Sanaullah.
The meeting also carried out a detailed review of the security situation under the National Action Plan. Important decisions and measures for peace and stability in the province were expected to receive approval.
Balochistan attacks intended to spread fear: ISPR DG
Earlier, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said at a press conference on Wednesday that three major terrorist attacks had taken place in Balochistan during the previous four days. He said 42 people had lost their lives, while security forces had killed 54 terrorists.
Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said the attacks were intended to spread fear among the public. He alleged that India was behind the incidents, adding that the people of Balochistan and the security forces had responded with courage.
