Security forces killed eight alleged terrorists during two intelligence-based operations in Balochistan’s Kharan and Mastung districts, the military’s media wing said.
According to the ISPR, the operations were carried out on June 25 and 26, while clearance operations are continuing in the affected areas to trace any remaining terrorists.
The ISPR said security forces conducted two separate intelligence-based operations in Balochistan after receiving information about terrorist activity.
On June 25, security forces detected the movement of terrorists in Kharan district and took immediate action. During the operation, three Indian-backed terrorists were killed, while several others were injured.
Suicide bomber among five killed in Mastung
The second operation was conducted on June 26 in Mastung after intelligence reports indicated the presence of a suicide bomber.
According to the ISPR, a fierce exchange of fire took place between security forces and terrorists. Five terrorists, including the suicide bomber, were killed in the encounter.
Security forces recovered weapons, ammunition, explosive material and motorcycles from the possession of the killed terrorists.
The ISPR said sanitization and clearance operations are underway in the areas to search for more terrorists. It added that operations against terrorists will continue with determination under the vision of a secure Pakistan.
The ISPR said the campaign would continue until the complete elimination of foreign-sponsored terrorism and its facilitators.
President pays tribute to security forces
President Asif Ali Zardari paid tribute to the security forces for killing eight terrorists in successful operations in Balochistan. He said the operations reflected the professionalism and determination of Pakistan’s security forces.
The president praised the courage, professionalism and sacrifices of officers and soldiers, saying operations against foreign-sponsored terrorism must continue until terrorism is completely eradicated.
PM vows continued fight against terrorism
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also commended the security forces for the successful operations against Fitna-ul-Hindustan terrorists in Balochistan. He said the brave security forces had thwarted the nefarious designs of terrorists.
The prime minister said operations against Fitna-ul-Hindustan would continue, adding that Pakistan’s struggle would go on until all forms of terrorism are eliminated from the country.
He said the sacrifices of security forces in the war against terrorism are unforgettable, and the nation stands firmly with the armed forces. Shehbaz added that enemies of peace would be defeated on every front.
Naqvi praises timely action
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi praised the security forces for successful operations against terrorists in Mastung and Kharan. He said the brave sons of the security forces foiled the evil intentions of terrorists in Balochistan through timely action.
Naqvi said the nation is proud of the courage and professionalism of the security forces and stands with them in the war against terrorism.
