Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi held a telephone conversation on Friday evening, reaffirming their commitment to lasting peace, regional stability and closer bilateral cooperation.
The two leaders also reviewed the latest diplomatic developments in the region and agreed to remain in close contact as Pakistan and Iran continue efforts to strengthen ties.
During the telephone conversation, Araghchi thanked the government and people of Pakistan for the warm hospitality extended to Iranian President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian and the accompanying delegation during their recent visit to Islamabad.
He expressed hope that the understandings and agreements reached during the visit would be seriously followed up and implemented at all levels.
Dar pledges implementation of agreements
Dar appreciated President Pezeshkian's visit to Pakistan and reaffirmed Islamabad's commitment to implementing the consensus and agreements reached during the visit.
Dar also reiterated Pakistan's determination to continue playing a constructive role in achieving lasting peace and stability in the region and beyond.

The two foreign ministers reviewed the latest diplomatic developments across the region during their discussion. They reaffirmed their shared commitment to maintaining close cooperation and regular consultations to promote permanent peace and regional stability.
Both sides agreed to remain in close contact as diplomatic engagements continue.
Pakistan updates Iran on detained Lenore-Davina crew
During the call, Ishaq Dar informed his Iranian counterpart about the steps and progress made by Pakistani authorities regarding efforts to end the detention of the Iranian crew of the Lenore-Davina ship.
Araghchi also thanked Pakistan for facilitating the safe and smooth repatriation of Iranian crew members and fishermen to their homeland.
The telephone conversation came after the latest diplomatic developments involving Iran and the United Arab Emirates, during which Araghchi also held a separate phone conversation with his Emirati counterpart.
The latest exchange between Islamabad and Tehran underscores both countries' commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation while supporting broader regional peace initiatives.
