The federal government decided on Saturday to keep petroleum product prices unchanged.
Petrol, diesel prices unchanged at Rs299.50 and Rs311.47
The government has maintained the price of petrol at Rs299.50 per litre and diesel at Rs311.47 per litre. Oil companies had objected to the previous increase in prices and wrote a letter to the petroleum minister, claiming a loss of Rs104 billion.
It is recalled that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had announced a reduction of Rs74 in the price of petrol and Rs67 in diesel.
Petrol prices expected to come down
Earlier, speaking on a Samaa TV programme 'Mere Sawal with Absar Alam', Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Tariq Fazal Chaudhry has said that petrol prices are expected to come down. He added that relief will be passed directly to the public in line with the prime minister’s instructions when international prices decline.
