The Orange Line Metro Train will continue to operate as usual on the 9th and 10th of Muharram, providing uninterrupted service to commuters despite special security arrangements for the religious observance.
However, metro bus, electric bus and Speedo bus services will remain temporarily suspended in several major cities during the two-day period.
Authorities have confirmed that no changes have been made to the Orange Line Metro Train's operating hours or routes during Muharram.
Passengers can use the train service as normal on both the 9th and 10th of Muharram, with regular schedules remaining in place.
Metro, bus services suspended for two days
In contrast, mass transit bus services will be suspended for two days because of security measures and traffic management plans for Muharram processions.
The temporary suspension applies to metro bus, electric bus and Speedo bus services.
Services affected in four major cities
The suspension of bus services will affect commuters in Lahore, Rawalpindi, Islamabad and Multan. Residents in these cities will not have access to metro bus, electric bus or Speedo bus services on the 9th and 10th of Muharram.
Officials said the temporary closure of mass transit bus services is part of comprehensive security and traffic arrangements being implemented during Muharram.
While bus services will remain unavailable for two days, the Orange Line Metro Train will continue operating normally to facilitate public transport in Lahore.
