The government has announced two public holidays on the occasion of Ashura, with offices and institutions set to remain closed on June 25 and 26.
Authorities have also put comprehensive security measures in place to ensure peaceful observance of the religious occasion.
The Cabinet Division has issued an official notification declaring Thursday, June 25, and Friday, June 26, as public holidays on the occasion of Ashura.
The announcement will allow citizens across the country to observe the significant religious days commemorating the martyrdom of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and his companions.
Sindh announces province-wide holidays
The Sindh government has also declared public holidays across the province for Ashura.
According to the notification issued by the provincial government, all public offices and institutions in Sindh will remain closed on June 25 and 26 in observance of Ashura.
Security plan finalised for Muharram processions
Alongside the holiday announcement, authorities have prepared a comprehensive security plan for Muharram processions and gatherings throughout Sindh.
Officials said strict security arrangements will be implemented across the province to maintain law and order and ensure the safety of mourners participating in Ashura events.
The security measures are aimed at facilitating the peaceful conduct of religious processions and majalis during Muharram.
Law enforcement agencies and local administrations are expected to remain on high alert during the two-day public holiday period as large gatherings take place across the province.
