A high-level Qatari delegation has arrived in Iran as diplomatic efforts accelerate to secure a possible peace agreement between the United States and Iran, Iranian media reported on Sunday.
The visit comes amid what mediators are describing as a critical phase in ongoing negotiations aimed at reducing regional tensions.
According to Iranian media outlets, the delegation is led by an advisor to the Qatari Prime Minister.
The team reportedly held consultations with Iranian officials to review the latest developments in the diplomatic process and explore ways to move negotiations forward.
Qatar has played a recurring mediation role in regional conflicts and is once again positioning itself as a key facilitator in backchannel diplomacy.
Push toward final agreement
Diplomatic sources suggest that discussions are now at a decisive stage, with multiple reports indicating that the United States and Iran are closer to an agreement than at any point in recent months.
The Qatari visit is being seen as part of efforts to bridge remaining gaps and accelerate progress toward a framework deal.
Reporting from Doha, analysts say this is not the first time Qatari diplomats have intervened in the ongoing crisis.
Earlier rounds of mediation reportedly intensified during periods of heightened regional tension, including cross-border attacks affecting several Gulf states.
Qatar has frequently been involved in efforts to de-escalate conflicts in the wider Middle East region.
