Apple has unveiled one of the biggest Siri upgrades in years with iOS 27.
The update introduces a dedicated Siri app for iPhone users, transforming the voice assistant into a more advanced AI companion powered by Apple Intelligence.
For the first time, Siri will come pre-installed as a standalone app on the iPhone. Once users update to iOS 27 later this year, the new Siri icon will appear directly on the Home Screen.
The app is also coming to Apple's wider ecosystem, including Mac, iPad, Apple Watch, and Vision Pro devices through their respective software updates.
Chat-style experience for Siri users
The new Siri app introduces a chat-style interface that allows users to revisit previous conversations and continue them whenever needed.
Thanks to iCloud syncing, conversations can seamlessly carry over between Apple devices, making it easier for users to pick up where they left off.
Users will also be able to upload photos and files directly within the app, enabling Siri to analyze content and provide relevant responses.

The dedicated Siri app is deeply integrated with Apple's new AI capabilities under Apple Intelligence.
According to Apple, Siri will have access to broader world knowledge and be able to understand personal context stored across a user's device. This allows the assistant to deliver more personalized responses and perform complex tasks more effectively.
The upgraded Siri can also recognize content displayed on the screen and answer questions about what users are viewing in real time.
One of the biggest additions is Siri's ability to reference information from apps and services across the Apple ecosystem.
With user permission, Siri can use details from messages, emails, photos, calendars, and other content to answer highly specific questions and provide contextual assistance.
Apple says these features are designed to make interactions with Siri feel more natural and helpful.
