Pakistan preparing for electronic signing
The prime minister said Pakistan was making arrangements for the electronic signing of the peace agreement.
According to Shehbaz Sharif, the electronic signature process will be part of the formal procedure after the final draft of the agreement is completed and approved by all parties.
Shehbaz said that technical-level negotiations would begin next week after the agreement is finalized. These discussions will focus on implementing the agreed framework and addressing technical aspects related to the peace process.
PM thanks US and Iran
The prime minister expressed gratitude to both the United States and Iran for their cooperation throughout the negotiations. He said the progress achieved so far would not have been possible without the constructive engagement of both sides.
“Thanks to the United States and Iran for their cooperation during the negotiations,” Shehbaz Sharif said.
The premier also thanked friendly and brotherly countries that supported the peace initiative. He said Pakistan was deeply grateful for their cooperation and assistance in helping move the agreement toward completion.
“I am sincerely grateful to the brotherly countries for their support for the peace agreement,” he said.
Hope for lasting peace
PM Shehbaz expressed confidence that the upcoming agreement would have a lasting positive impact on regional stability.
He said he was convinced that the historic peace accord would serve as a strong foundation for durable peace and cooperation in the region.
“I am sure that this historic peace agreement will prove to be a strong foundation for lasting peace,” the prime minister said.
Pakistan’s role in peace efforts
The prime minister’s remarks come amid Pakistan’s continued diplomatic efforts to facilitate dialogue and help advance the peace process.
With the agreement reportedly nearing completion, attention is now focused on the expected finalization of the text and the next stage of technical negotiations.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has also said that a memorandum of understanding with the United States to end the ongoing war could be signed within the next few days, but warned that nuclear talks would only begin after the interim deal is fully implemented.
Speaking in an interview with Iran’s state-run IRIB TV on Friday night, Araghchi said the proposed MoU had not yet been signed and changes in its terms or text were still possible.
Araghchi said Iran had faced “two major wars in one year” and had emerged stronger after what he described as extraordinary resistance by the Iranian people.
Iran insists no final decision yet on US deal
Meanwhile, another senior Iranian official said that no final decision has yet been made on a potential agreement with the United States, despite growing reports that both sides are close to finalizing a deal aimed at ending months of conflict and opening the door to broader negotiations.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei said the proposed memorandum of understanding (MoU) remains under review and stressed that speculation about a completed agreement is premature.
Speaking on Friday, Baghaei said the text of the proposed understanding between Tehran and Washington is currently undergoing its final internal review process.
“Regarding the text of the understanding, we are in the final internal review stages. A meeting of the relevant bodies is currently underway,” he said.
Trump tells Netanyahu it's time to end Iran war
Earlier, US President Donald Trump told Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that it was time to end the war with Iran, as Washington moves closer to a possible agreement with Tehran, Axios reported on Saturday.
According to a senior US official cited by Axios, Trump called Netanyahu on Thursday evening and described the potential US-Iran agreement as “a great deal.”
“This is the deal. It’s a great deal, and it’s time to end this war,” Trump told Netanyahu, according to the US official.
Netanyahu reportedly expressed concern that any deal must address Iran’s nuclear program. However, he avoided a significant argument with the US president.
“Bibi probably understood that a deal was about to happen and that he could not stop it,” the official said.
