Instagram has started rolling out a new feature that gives users more control over how their profile appears.
The update allows users to manually rearrange photos and videos on their profile grid, offering a more flexible way to curate personal pages.
Instagram introduces grid reordering
The new feature lets users change the order of posts directly on their profile page.
To use it, users can tap on any photo or video in their grid and select the option labeled “Reorder grid.”
This opens a new interface where posts can be freely dragged and repositioned according to user preference.
Once the arrangement is complete, users can confirm changes by tapping the back arrow in the top-left corner, after which the updated layout will be applied to their profile.
This update follows another recent Instagram feature introduced last year that allowed users to reorder images and videos within a carousel after posting.
The new grid-level control expands that flexibility to the entire profile, giving users more creative freedom over how their content is displayed.
It reflects Instagram’s ongoing efforts to improve customization tools and respond to long-standing user requests.
Availability and rollout
According to Instagram’s Threads account, the feature is being made available starting this week.
However, the rollout is gradual, meaning not all users will receive access immediately.
Some users may need to wait until the feature becomes fully available in their region or app version.
The update is expected to be especially popular among creators, influencers, and users who carefully curate their Instagram aesthetic.
By allowing manual rearrangement of posts, Instagram is giving users more control over first impressions and visual storytelling on their profiles.
This change could also reduce the need for deleting or reposting content just to adjust profile layouts.
