Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has said that Pakistan’s hosting of the United States-Iran talks is a matter of honour, adding that a ceasefire, lasting peace and the establishment of an Islamic bloc remain their aspiration.
Iranian Ambassador Reza Amiri Moghadam visited the residence of Rehman, where the two figures held an important meeting. Matters of significance, including the implications of the recent United States–Iran conflict, came under discussion.

The Iranian envoy conveyed gratitude on behalf of the Iranian nation for Pakistan’s firm stance during the conflict. He said the balanced and resolute position of the Pakistani public and religious scholars was commendable.
Speaking to the media, Rehman reiterated that Pakistan’s role in hosting the United States–Iran negotiations is an honour. He said the formation of an Islamic bloc, alongside a ceasefire and enduring peace, forms part of JUI-F’s manifesto.
He said the sovereignty of Islamic countries must be respected and that the Muslim Ummah must resolve its issues through mutual consultation.
Rehman maintained that the liberation of Al-Quds from Israeli control remains an obligation upon every Muslim.
