Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is set to return to court this Sunday as his long-running corruption trial resumes.
The hearings come shortly after Israel lifted a state of emergency imposed during its ongoing war with Iran.
A spokesperson for the Israeli court confirmed that, with the emergency lifted, judicial proceedings will continue normally.
Court sessions are now scheduled to take place between Sundays and Wednesdays.
Charges against sitting PM
Netanyahu, the first sitting Israeli prime minister to face criminal charges, denies accusations of bribery, fraud, and breach of trust.
The charges stem from investigations that began in 2019, covering alleged misconduct during his tenure
The trial officially began in 2020 but has faced repeated delays due to Netanyahu’s official duties.
There remains no clear end date for the proceedings, which could result in jail terms if the prime minister is convicted.
