India and New Zealand will meet today in the final of the ICC T20 World Cup 2026.
The mega match will take place at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The winning team will not only lift the trophy but also receive a substantial prize money for players and the team.
This year, the ICC has set a total prize pool of $13.5 million for the T20 World Cup, 20 per cent higher than the 2024 tournament. The winning team will receive 3 million dollars, while the runners-up will be awarded $1.6 million.
Teams defeated in the semi-finals will each receive $790,000, while teams reaching the Super 8 stage will be granted 380,000 dollars each. Teams participating in the group stage will be entitled to a minimum prize of $250,000.
It may be recalled that in the 2024 T20 World Cup, India won $2.45 million as champions, and South Africa, as runners-up, received $1.28 million. Furthermore, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced additional rewards for all Indian players, coaches, staff, and reserve players.
