Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif said the Ramazan Relief Package has become operational to support deserving individuals during the holy month.
The distribution of funds is being carried out through a transparent digital system.
During a review meeting on the relief package, the Prime Minister stated that the aid amount has been increased from 5,000 to 13,000 rupees per person compared to last year.
The aim is to provide timely financial assistance to eligible citizens while ensuring dignity and efficiency. He described the initiative as the country’s largest and most comprehensive Ramadan relief program.
Shahbaz Sharif highlighted that the digital wallet system has eliminated long queues and ensures cash assistance reaches recipients without compromising their self-respect.
According to the briefing presented to the meeting participants, by the 8th of Ramadan, 64% of eligible beneficiaries had already received funds.
The verification process for remaining recipients is underway to expedite disbursement.
This year, the government has partnered with 12 banks and financial technology companies for the distribution process. So far, beneficiaries of the Ramadan Package have completed 1.1 million digital transactions, reflecting the program’s scale and efficiency.
