The Islamabad Safe City has released its annual performance report for 2025, stating that the use of modern technology strengthened surveillance, public safety, and rapid response arrangements in the capital.
According to the report, the Islamabad Safe City carried out 97,506 surveillance operations of various types during 2025. Around 200 local and foreign delegations visited the facility during the year. A total of 696 AI-based facial recognition systems and advanced ANPR cameras were added.
The report said that the Hunch Lab and Golden Hour systems were introduced in 2025, ensuring timely response in 326 important cases. With the support of Hunch Lab, 101 dangerous groups were identified, while 82 suspects were arrested.
Under the Hotel Eye system, data of 1,145,000 individuals was recorded. Through digital identification, more than 300 proclaimed offenders were brought under the law. The digital control room provided guidance to 745,000 citizens over the year.
Through the complaint management system, 78,000 complaints were received and resolved on merit. The Online Women Police Station helpline 1815 received 90,000 calls, on which prompt action was taken.
The report further stated that the first Quality Assurance Desk was established at the Islamabad Safe City Islamabad to improve response standards. During 2025, 11,372 digital challans were issued through the e-challan system.
During the year, an online taxi verification app and the One Info app were also introduced. Through the taxi app, more than 35,000 passengers, drivers, and taxis were registered. Through the One Info app, citizens provided police with information in 1,206 different categories.
To ensure effective liaison and prompt assistance for the Chinese community, a WeChat service was also introduced, which received a positive response from citizens.
