The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) imposed punishments on 271 officers and officials in departmental inquiries over the past four months.
According to details, the agency forwarded its self-accountability report to the Ministry of Interior. The report said that during the four-month period, 78 officials were dismissed from service, while nine faced demotion to lower ranks.
A total of 130 officials received minor penalties from FIA Headquarters, the Ministry of Interior, and the Anti-Narcotics Cell. It said that 57 departmental inquiries were completed by zonal directors and additional directors general. Officials who faced punishment ranged in rank from constable to deputy director.
According to the report, nearly 32 per cent of the punishments related to immigration matters.
