Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi said on Sunday that a proposal has been made to start the Pakistan Super League (PSL) on March 23 instead of March 26.
Addressing a press conference, Naqvi has made it clear that the PCB will monitor Multan Sultans itself in the upcoming edition of the domestic marquee tournament.
Naqvi said Multan Sultans will be auctioned after the conclusion of the PSL. The head of the Sultans will be announced within the next ten days.
"Wasim Akram has been appointed as the brand ambassador of the PSL. Akram will serve as the auctioneer on the day of the teams’ auction," he said.
"If all franchises agree, the PSL will begin on 23 March.
Starting the PSL on 23 March would be a good decision," Naqvi said.
He added that since Aaqib Javed joined, the main focus has remained on the Shaheens and the Under-19 team.
