Pakistani players taking part in the ongoing edition of the Big Bash League (BBL) will play the full season.
According to details surfaced on Wednesday, an update has been provided regarding Pakistani players in the BBL. Cricket Australia CEO Todd Greenberg discussed the inclusion of Pakistani players in the BBL and the upcoming tour of Pakistan.
Greenberg confirmed that the Pakistani players will complete the full BBL season.
“We have been informed that the players contracted for the BBL will play the entire season,” said Greenberg.
Concerns had arisen that the Pakistan team players might not complete the full BBL season due to the Sri Lanka tour. Pakistan are scheduled to tour Sri Lanka in January.
“The Pakistan tour for the T20 series will proceed as scheduled,” said Todd Greenberg.
The dates for the T20 series are yet to be announced, Greenberg maintained.
Ahead of the January tour, some officials will be sent to Pakistan to conduct security checks, said Greenberg.
Discussions regarding the Pakistan tour will take place with the players after the Ashes series, Greenberg added.
Players will be fully briefed on all security matters, he said.
“I visited Pakistan with players in 2022, and it was a very good experience,” Todd Greenberg said.
