Smog has become a recurring annual problem, but by adopting a few very simple measures during this period, we can protect ourselves from many of the health issues it causes.
First, keep drinking small amounts of water throughout the day, and it is even better if the water is at normal room temperature. Additionally, increasing your intake of warm beverages is highly beneficial.
Similarly, never leave the house without having breakfast. When we eat breakfast, our immune system gets an immediate boost. Also, keep in mind that you should not remain hungry for 7 to 8 hours at a stretch.
Whenever you go outside, make sure you are properly covered, and if you are heading to the office, perform ablution (wudu) upon arrival so the effects of smog are cleansed from your nose and throat. Likewise, when you return home, take a bath right away and inhale steam.
When you lie down to sleep at night, avoid drinking cold juice, water, or milk beforehand. Whatever beverage you choose, try to have it warm. Before your daytime nap or nighttime sleep, drink a beverage of your choice - even a small amount helps.
