The national weekly inflation rate increased by 0.73%, while annual inflation reached 4.32%, according to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS).

During the past week, prices of 14 essential commodities rose, while 12 items recorded a decrease. The prices of 25 essential goods remained stable, PBS reported.
Items that became more expensive included moong dal, ghee, cooking oil, and powdered milk. Sugar, jaggery, beef, electricity, LPG, cigarettes, and firewood also saw price hikes.
The report noted that electricity tariffs for lower-income consumers rose by more than 11%.
Meanwhile, tomatoes became cheaper by 28%, onions by 10%, and potatoes by up to 4.58%. Salt, chana dal, garlic, eggs, and flour were also among the items that saw price reductions.
