Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir on Wednesday met with Iranian National Security Council Secretary Ali Larijani during which the both leaders discuss matters of mutual interests including regional peace and security.
The meeting aimed to strengthen regional cooperation and bilateral ties and took place at General Headquarters (GHQ). The high-level discussions centered on enhancing Pakistan-Iran strategic relations, promoting regional peace, and addressing security challenges affecting the region.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Field Marshal Munir reiterated Pakistan’s firm commitment to maintaining peace and stability across the region while emphasizing the critical importance of close collaboration with Iran in combating terrorism, managing security threats, and fostering a secure environment for both nations and their neighbors.
The COAS also highlighted the longstanding strategic partnership between Pakistan and Iran, describing it as vital for addressing regional challenges and ensuring long-term stability.
Ali Larijani, during his visit, praised Pakistan’s pivotal role in promoting peace and security in the region while lauding Islamabad’s efforts in addressing common challenges and expressed Iran’s commitment to deepening cooperation with Pakistan.
Both sides agreed to continue dialogue and collaboration to ensure that regional peace and security remain a top priority.
