Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met newly elected members of the National Assembly in Islamabad and congratulated them on their success in the by-elections.
He expressed hope that they would take part fully in legislation for Pakistan’s progress, prosperity and public welfare, and that they would play a constructive role in the National Assembly.
The prime minister said the victory in the by-elections came due to the vision of PML-N President Nawaz Sharif, his exceptional leadership and the hard work of party workers. He added that the result also reflected public confidence in Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, whose efforts for the province’s development and welfare received public approval.
The premier said he expected the newly elected members to work with full commitment for the welfare of the people in their constituencies.
Those present included Babar Nawaz, Bilal Farooq Tarar, Bilal Badar, Raja Danial, Hafiz Nauman, Chaudhry Tufail Jatt and Mehmood Qadir.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Federal Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar and Federal Minister for Power Division Sardar Awais Khan Leghari also attended the meeting.
