Pakistan completed a 3–0 one-day international series sweep over Sri Lanka with a six-wicket win in the final match at the Pindi Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi on Sunday.
Sri Lanka reached 211 all out in 45.2 overs after Pakistan elected to field. Mohammad Wasim led the attack with three wickets, while Haris Rauf and Faisal Akram secured two each. Sadeera Samarawickrama top-scored for the visitors with 48, but regular breakthroughs prevented any sustained partnership.
Pakistan replied with 215 for four in 44.4 overs. Fakhar Zaman set the early pace with 55, before Mohammad Rizwan anchored the chase with an unbeaten 61. Hussain Talat provided support with 42 not out, and the hosts reached the target with 32 balls to spare.
The result sealed a comprehensive series victory for Pakistan, who claimed all three matches in the 2025/26 home campaign against Sri Lanka.
It is pertinent to note that in the second match, Babar Azam ended his 807-day wait for a century in any international format when he struck a match-winning hundred in the second ODI against Sri Lanka at the Pindi Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi on Friday, securing Pakistan an unassailable lead in the three-match series.
Pakistan chased a target of 289 with eight wickets in hand and 1.4 overs to spare, with Babar unbeaten on 102 and Mohammad Rizwan on 51. Fakhar Zaman earlier provided the platform with 78 at the top of the order
