The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has appointed Najmul Hossain Shanto as the captain of the national Test team until the conclusion of the 2025–2027 ICC World Test Championship cycle.
According to details surfaced on Saturday, the decision was confirmed ahead of the two-match Test series against Ireland, which begins on 11 November in Sylhet.
Shanto will lead Bangladesh through the remaining fixtures of the current championship, as the BCB aimed to ensure stability and consistency in the Test side over the coming years.
