Chief of the Naval Staff, Admiral Naveed Ashraf visited forward posts in the Creeks area on Saturday to review operational preparedness and combat readiness.
During the visit, three advanced 2400 TD Hovercraft were formally inducted into the Pakistan Marines, marking a major step in enhancing the Pakistan Navy’s operational strength and mobility.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the newly inducted Hovercraft can operate over multiple types of surfaces at the same time, including shallow waters, sand dunes and marshy coastal zones. These vessels can move in areas where conventional craft cannot function, offering a significant advantage in coastal and amphibious operations.
While addressing officers and sailors, Admiral Ashraf said that the addition of these modern assets reflects the Pakistan Navy’s vision of strengthening maritime defence and ensuring the protection of national frontiers, especially in the Creeks region.
He reaffirmed that the Pakistan Navy remains determined to safeguard the country’s maritime boundaries and maintain readiness against any challenge.
Admiral Ashraf underlined that maritime security serves as a foundation of national sovereignty, economic prosperity and regional stability. He said the Pakistan Navy knows how to defend every inch of the nation’s maritime frontier, from Sir Creek to Jiwani.
The Naval Chief added that Pakistan Navy’s defensive capabilities are as strong as the determination and morale of its personnel.
