A woman in the United Kingdom faced a heavy fine after pouring leftover coffee onto a roadside drain.
According to media reports, she was standing at a bus stop when she emptied the remaining coffee from her cup into the drain beside the pavement.
Police officers who witnessed the act fined her £150 under the Environmental Protection Act, which prohibits throwing litter or any form of waste on public streets.
However, the local council later reviewed the matter and deemed the violation minor, leading to the cancellation of the fine.
The woman admitted that her action was unintentional and assured authorities that she would avoid repeating such behaviour in future.
