Megan Pierce, 22, from Indiana, United States, has set a Guinness World Record for owning the largest collection of items related to Batman’s well-known villain, the Joker.
Pierce currently holds 2,318 items, which include action figures, comic books, skateboards, milk jugs from 1966, and Joker-themed roller blades.
She began collecting while in middle school. During the Covid-19 pandemic, she started sharing videos and photographs of her collection on social media, which encouraged her to apply for the record.
She officially began the application in 2023. Under Guinness World Records' rules, she was required to submit measurements, descriptions and photographs of every item in the collection. All steps were carried out under the supervision of five witnesses.
Pierce described the process as long but memorable.
Her interest not only resulted in the record but also brought her recognition in the Joker fan community. She said the hobby led her to meet many other enthusiasts, including actor Mark Hamill, known for voicing the Joker in various animated productions and video games.
Pierce said, with a laugh, that even if someone breaks her record, she would feel even more excited to expand her collection.
