The Sessions Court in Lahore on Thursday dismissed the bail application of popular YouTuber Saad-ur-Rehman, better known as Ducky Bhai, in a case linked to the promotion of illegal online gambling apps.
Additional Sessions Judge Sajida Chaudhry had earlier reserved the verdict after hearing arguments from both sides. On Thursday, the court announced its decision, rejecting the YouTuber’s plea for bail.
The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has registered a case against him, alleging his involvement in the promotion of gambling applications, including Binomo.
Arrest at Lahore Airport
Authorities detained Ducky Bhai on August 17 at Lahore airport while he was attempting to travel abroad. His name had already been placed on the Provisional National Identification List (PNIL), which barred him from leaving the country.
Following his arrest, the YouTuber was handed over to the NCCIA on a two-day physical remand. The court had directed investigators to submit a detailed report on the case at subsequent hearings.
NCCIA’s allegations
The NCCIA claims to have recovered evidence of unlawful payments linked to online gambling promotions. Investigators accuse the YouTuber of misleading the public through his platforms and of engaging in money laundering activities.
Officials also revealed that a modern smartphone seized from him contained suspicious WhatsApp numbers, data, and payment records tied to gambling-related promotions.
