Applicants seeking UAE entry permits must now submit a copy of their passport’s external cover page as part of the application process, according to Amer Centres in Dubai and typing centres in both Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
Staff at these centres confirmed that they had received a circular from immigration departments earlier this month introducing the new rule.
The notice stated that the passport cover page has been added as a mandatory document for all entry permit applications, regardless of nationality or visa type.
The requirement applies to new entry permit applications.
According to Gulf News, the publication has reached out to the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP) and the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai (GDRFA Dubai) for official confirmation.
Applicants have been advised to check directly with the relevant authorities for the latest requirements. For inquiries, ICP can be reached at 600 522222, while GDRFA Dubai can be contacted at 800 5111.
