Prince Harry is expected to meet his father, King Charles III, for long-awaited peace talks during his current UK visit, according to royal experts.
The update was shared by Roya Nikkhah, Royal Editor at the Sunday Times, during her appearance on Good Morning Britain. She noted that while “no one knows apart from the King, Harry and his private secretary,” the discussions are likely to happen midweek, when the monarch returns from Balmoral.
Background
Prince Harry is in the UK on a four-day trip, with two confirmed engagements: attending the WellChild Awards and making a substantial donation to the Children In Need initiative at a private event in Nottingham.
Strained family ties
Royal commentators suggest that while both father and son are keen to meet, the relationship remains fraught. “Harry has said so many things in the last two years that have been hurtful to the King, to the Queen, to William, to Kate,” Nikkhah observed.
She further questioned whether a meeting could truly remain private, adding: “There’s so much mistrust. Can a meeting like that happen and Harry not talk about it after? That’s the key question.”
