A domestic disagreement over samosas in Uttar Pradesh’s Anantpur escalated into a violent altercation, leaving one man hospitalised and four individuals facing attempted murder charges.
According to Indian media, the dispute began when a man named Shivam failed to bring samosas for his wife, Sangeeta. The disagreement intensified the following day when Sangeeta called upon her parents and maternal uncle.
A village council meeting was convened in the presence of former village head, Udhesh Sharma, to resolve the issue. However, the meeting descended into violence, during which Sangeeta and her relatives allegedly attacked Shivam.
Footage of the incident has circulated on social media, showing the victim and his family members being assaulted. The injured were taken to hospital for treatment.
Police have confirmed that Shivam’s mother, Vijay Kumari, lodged a written complaint. An FIR has been registered under relevant sections, including attempted murder. Investigations are ongoing.
