The Chup Tazia Majlis began at Nishtar Park on Tuesday morning (8 Rabi al-Awwal, September 2, 2025).
Soon after the Majlis, the Chup Tazia procession will set out from Nishtar Park and conclude at Hussainiya Iranian Noor Bagh.
Authorities have sealed routes leading to the procession, deployed snipers on rooftops, and installed CCTV monitoring along the entire path to ensure security.
Security measures for Chup Tazia procession

Over 3,432 police personnel are deployed along the Nishtar Park–Kharadar route.

2,366 officers are posted for the Shah Najaf procession in District Central.

Additional IG Javed Alam Odho has ordered full alert status for all units.

Sharpshooters have been stationed on buildings along procession paths.

Markets and shops on key routes have been sealed as a precaution.
Traffic plan and alternative routes
The Karachi traffic police have announced diversions for commuters throughout the day:
District Central

From Nazimabad → commuters can use Lasbela Chowk to Nishtar Road via Garden.

From Liaquatabad → turn left from Teen Hatti to Lasbela Chowk, then towards Central Jail (Martin Road).

From Hassan Square → take Kashmir Road to Shahrah-e-Quaideen (Society Light Signal), or Jail Flyover to Teen Hatti, then Nishtar Road.
District East

From Shahrah-e-Faisal → turn right from Society Light Signal onto Kashmir Road.

From Central Jail Gate (Jamshed Road) → travel via Guru Mandir → Bihar Colony → Darya Khan Road → Soldier Bazaar.
District South

From Garden Zoo → take Uncle Saria Hospital road → right to Gul Plaza or left to Coast Guard/Holy Family Hospital → onwards to MA Jinnah Road.
Heavy traffic diversions

From Super Highway → rerouted from Liaquatabad No. 10 to Nazimabad Chowrangi No. 2 → Habib Bank Flyover → State Avenue Road → Sher Shah → Maripur.

From National Highway → enter via Shahrah-e-Faisal or Rashid Minhas Road → Stadium Road → Hassan Square → onward to Sher Shah and Maripur.
MA Jinnah Road closure

General entry is prohibited on MA Jinnah Road. Only vehicles with procession entry passes (stickers) may enter through Shahrah-e-Quaideen Society Light Signal.
The Chup Tazia procession will travel from Nishtar Park through traditional routes before ending at Noor Bagh Passenger Station / Hussainiya Iranian Imambargah, following the final Majlis.
