India has released another flood wave towards Pakistan, with fears of an 800,000 cusecs surge in the River Chenab.
Announcements are being made via mosques, urging residents to move to safer locations. According to Indian media reports, India has released further water by opening all 12 gates of the Salal Dam.

On the instructions of the Assistant Commissioner of Wazirabad, announcements are being made from mosques, advising citizens to relocate to safe areas.
The announcements informed the residents that more water has been released by India, urging them to protect their lives and property and to evacuate the area.
No official confirmation on Salal Dam Water release, says Punjab govt
However, on the other side, the Punjab government has confirmed that no official communication has been received regarding the release of 800,000 cusecs of water from Salal Dam.
According to government sources, no notification has been shared on any official platform confirming the opening of all spillways of Salal Dam. The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has also confirmed that no formal information has been shared regarding this matter.
Alerts and status reports
In response to concerns over possible flooding, PDMA has reported that an alert for a high-level flood has been issued at Harike on the Sutlej River.
However, the authority clarified that no official warning has been received concerning the release of water into the River Chenab or any other rivers.
The PDMA spokesperson confirmed that no official update has been issued about the opening of Salal Dam spillways.
Govt action
Following the Chief Minister of Punjab’s directives, the civil administration and all relevant departments remain on high alert.
Director General Irfan Kathia affirmed that timely alerts would be issued to both the authorities and the public in the event of any major water flow in the rivers.
He confirmed that instructions have been issued to all departments to remain vigilant.
