The federal government has announced an extension of the electricity bill payment deadline for residents of flood-hit areas.
In a statement, Federal Minister for Energy Awais Leghari, said electricity supply would remain suspended in affected regions until the safety of the population could be ensured.
He added that the current government had refunded Rs100 billion to consumers in connection with last year’s overbilling and clarified that no further overbilling was taking place.
Leghari stated that electricity tariffs had been reduced and the power sector had now returned to the right track.
