Canadian politician Marwah Rizqy has set a new world record by wearing the highest number of neckties at the same time.
During an appearance on the television programme Infoman in Montreal, Rizqy wore 360 neckties at once, earning the Guinness World Record for Most Neck Ties Worn at Once.
The previous record was held by David Aparecido of Brazil, who wore 330 neckties in 2023.
Rizqy took on the challenge with the aim of showing that women can also achieve distinctive records, traditionally associated with men. The neckties had already been tied, and the process of putting them on took approximately 48 minutes.
She surpassed the earlier record after reaching 330 neckties, then added a further 30 to complete the attempt.
By the end, Rizqy’s face had become almost completely obscured under the layers of ties.
